4870x2 - possible to disable one gpu?

With the 4870x2 is it possible to disable one GPU on it , the reason I
ask is just incase compatability problems with dual GPU's arise in certain games

I am close to caving in and ordering one ( £320 inc vat aint too big a stretch of finances)

You can go to device manager and disable one card I think. I'm sure a review site done it to see what benefits the 4870 with 1gb of ram gave over the 512mb single card version.
