4870x2 Problems

Pretty much I have been having trouble with my 4870x2.

I have recently got the second core to work and take some load (before it wouldn't do anything).

I now have another problem

The card doesn't run the core to its max it sits at around 20% usage in every game I play.

3DMark causes the usage to go up to 100% but so far games etc. don't seem to use it at all really!

COD4 runs between 100-200 frames when it should be 250 constant easily

Specs:

Q6600 @ 3.4ghz
4GB DDR2 Ram
4870x2

W7 64bit

I am on 10.9a and with the latest Application profiles.

I am also using a 10.9a hot fix from AMD which opened up the second core.

Reckon I should give 10.5 a go?

thats the one I am using. Should I downgrade to the 10.5 drivers or just use the 10.5 hotfix?

I gave up with the card about 10 years eventually and just sold it on.

I didn't say how quickly I would report back..

Where did you go for ten years?!

I just forgot really but I got really into League of Legends and didn't really play much else in the last 10 years so haven't been as into the hardware etc. for a while.

For the first couple of years after I made the thread I was working a 8:30am - 5pm job, then working 4 evenings at Makro 5:30pm - 9:30pm and often weekends, main reason I went to uni really!

Also since I made the thread I've been to uni, got a first in computing, got a half-decent job, had time to put on weight, lose all of it, put on weight, lose all of it about 5 times .

Now I have a bit more time for myself and actually at the moment an extra 2 hours a day as I don't need to commute to work .

I was running a 486 when this thread started

That was before my time really I think.

First PC i had ( built ) had a AMD 3500+ on a 939 board ( which was a fairly short lived socket ).
