4870x2 vs5850

I think with a good overclock it 'could' be close but it'll take a good'n (5850). My money would still be on the X2 by a whisker.

If you are trying to get more performance by swapping it's not worth it, if you want a quiet(er) pc then it could be worthwhile. If you really care about dx11 and power saving then that might be another incentive but not enough on it's own.

4870X2
5870

The 5870 will have the dx11 support and the X2 will run the dx9.c stuff better. I would say the 5870 will be less inclined to choppy performance and run smoother (single gpu). :)

I moved from 4870 x2 to a 5870 and they are very close performance wise.
With dx9 games id say identical and with dx10 games i think the 5870 edges it.
What the 5870 does though is run cool and quiet and not reliant on the game working with crossfire.
So the 4870 = 5870 but the 5870 is the best card ive ever bought.
