4890 OC Issue

Hi Guys,

Been tweaking around with my 4890 lately in CCC, and am finding that I can't increase the memory speed by even one incrememnt; otherwise the screen appears to move up and down in game as if the sync is unstable. My 2 questions are:

1. What is the primary cause of this problem?
2. Is there any way to fix it so I can increase my memory clock?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have overclocked my sapphire 4890 in the ccc to 900mhz core and 1000mhz memory and runs like a dream. I can probz go more.

card/mobo issue imo.

test the card on another board see if same things happen.

There's the thing, i've just changed boards from an Intel to an AMD setup. Still having the same issue.

I got a special edition of the 4890, with the default speeds being what yours are at now. Did yours clock at 850 core to start with?
