4890 to a 5870 any point in upgrade ?

Answered your own question if your interested in dx11 lol

Lower power consumption, higher performance, dx 11.. win all around

As somebody who has just gone from a GTX 260 216 EVGA SC 55nm card to a 5850, although the performance is much improved especially with AA on, the performance gain did not equate to the £90 the upgrade cost me.

A 5870 will definitely not be worth the £190 upgrade IMO.

However, I would still look at the 5850 and overclock it giving you way more than 5870 stock performance if you have the £90 spare.

I would wait until Christmas. Some DX11 games will be out until then, Nvidias cards should be out by then driving ATI prices down a bit l think.

well, dirt 2 comes out 3 desember and its included with many ATI Radeon HD 5000 series cards
from HD 4890 meybe wait for HD 5950 or HD 5970 ;)
HD 5890 might come to
