Hi everyone, thanks in advance for any help/advice.

My system is:

4930k Currently at 4.5ghz
Asus Rampage Extreme IV
2 x powercolor PCS+ 290x
16GB (2x8GB) Vengence black 1833mhz
Superflower 1300+ Leadex

Ok, so basically im trying to overclock my cpu. I have it at 4.5ghz with 8Packs settings from his guide and is stable. My Vcore is currently set to +0.040 which brings me to 1.365 under load. Im very new to offset so don't actually know wether i've got it right but thats the first number i hit when it becomes stable.

Now, after 4.5ghz its like i hit a wall. even with vcore set to 1.4+ I cant get past 4.5.

Another problem I'm having is tightening my RAM, I cant even change the command rate with out my PC failing to boot.

I hope I've posted enough info.... for now any way

Thanks

Corsair low binned kits are tough to tune much. They bin well and make comsumers pay the extra for teh better stuff. Maybe other timings will tune that could help performance??

TRFC?? TWCL??? and Tras for starters.

Cooling and temps of CPU please? You tried High BL:K on 125 strap to get an extra 100mhz. Usually works well. Lower VCCIO and VTT will also help lower temps. For your ram like 1v will be enough.

Hi 8Pack Thanks for the reply. When I run aida 64 for about 30 minutes, my temps dont go higher than 70-73 degrees, and in gaming im lucky if it reaches 68. I use Coolermaster Nepton 140XL. What should I lower the VCCIO and VTT to? 1v? And my pc seems to refuse to boot if i use anything higher than 100 Strap?

Also from your guide are all of the settings in the DIGI+ page in BIOS needed?

and does my voltage +0.040 seem ok to you?

When changing to 125 strap are you also changing dram speed as it will set it higher, you have to set it back to its nearest rated speed, aim for a bclk of around 128-129

Ok I will try this now, is this with the same voltages as I already have. and all the Digi+ Settings.

LLC High

140%

Rest on optimized/regular and 120%

??

Ok when i change my BLCK to 125, 128 or 129, my pc refuses to boot. I put my ram speed to the closest one below 1833mhz with same voltage and same timings as XMP sets.

Any reason for this, or anything else I need to change?

Very strange that for both of you, can you post some bios screen shots, mainly of digi section and main voltages,

Had rampage formula, RIVE and RIVBE and never had a problem

Set BLK strap to 125. BLK to 125 and multi to like 35 and try again. See how this goes and if it boots. If it does not boot check where the post read out stops so its easier to diagnose issue.

Yep, computer refused to boot same as before, with monitor not even recognising that the computer is booting there for going into idle mode and just flashing.
