4930k should it stay or should it go??

Do you get any issues with Core Temp Neil and Windows 8.1 by any chance?

It hangs my machine (not hard lockup, just won't load desktop) sometimes...Gave up and went back to Real Temp.

Never tried mate - always used Real Temp

I don't get any issues with it on 8.1, I do with gpuz though, apparently I have 208c vrm temps at stock!!!

Looks like a poor chip - give it to me and I'll dispose of it :p

Nick, I've been playing around and last night managed to get 4.8 stable @ 1.4v on 125 strap (auto) with 37 multi / 130BLCK. Thanks for the lil bit of encouragement ;)

VTT on auto and VCCSA @ 1.12v :) and rock stable.

Still playing with the ram though.

They love around 131 it just depends if your cards etc do though. Sometimes you gain in one and lose in another.

Cheers Nick

Ok mate, I'm gonna try upping VVT and IMC volts later as although I can loop most benches all day long I'm getting a few crash to desktops, like on that Star Swarm Mantle crap. So if anything I might have to back it off. had a PCH initialise on boot once or twice, so maybe more is worse in my case. Is there a chance I can do any damage with the BCLK at those speeds? Bit of a noob question but I know how much PCIE moans about moving even a touch.

One of my most frequent bsod codes is 124, don't think the imc on this one is as good as my other but the higher clocks more than compensate. Few more options with this board I have not experimented with yet.
Can run 4.8 with ram @ 1600 with less than 1.4v but set to 2400 with 1.25v sa/vtt and bsod 124.
Not sure if it's the BE's bios but I can have rock solid clocks and when booting from cold I can get debug code 6F??

^^ also finding that there is not much difference between 100/125 straps which is a first on the 3 x79 boards I have owned, got to be the bios or I'm missing a crucial setting???
