4G Network live today

I think the handset contracts that T-Mobile and Orange (EE) are advertising as "4G ready" are able to use the network if in range Crafty.

Odd that it's not Bristol - they used to get a lot of trial stuff there for obvious reasons

Pete's eluding to Orange's HQ/Test circuit being there for those who don't know (Well, I Guess former HQ now it's EE). The pan-country network has terminals at reading which is why I imagine they have it (amongst other reasons). AFAIK it's not using the same network ID as Ora/T-Mo so I doubt anyone but the testers can use it currently.

So no one can really use it to any great effect given there is no 3500MHz handsets out there for in the retail sector?.

Read the article, this has nothing to do with mobile phones, it's a home/business broadband ISP.

Beating EE's 4G service to the punch, UK Broadband started rolling out LTE connectivity today to residents and businesses in Swindon, Southwark and Reading. The high-speed service will be offered as an alternative to fixed-line home and business broadband, and is tipped to offer download speeds of 40Mbit/s.
