4gb Xbox Limitations

TBH this is pretty shocking. I didn't have a clue about this and was thinking of getting a 4Gb due to preferring the matt colour.

I'm in exactly the same boat. You would have thought Microsoft would have the decency to warn us of the HDD requirements on certain games. It's highly misleading! I cannot imagine how many people are irritated right now at firing up Reach in giddy excitement only to be told they cannot play with their friends as they bought the 4GB Xbox - for which HDDs aren't even available yet!

Absolutely shocking. I thought the 4GB memory would cover in for any HDD requirements but it doesn't.

Dont worry; youll still be able to connect the controllers and any other accessories that you already own to Xbox 360 4 GB while playing the best blockbuster games like Halo Reach and Fable III.
Thats from a retailers website (granted not a dedicated games retailer), I wonder how many stores would actually have the staff with the relevant knowledge to warn users if they went to buy a 4GB version with the game.

So this is just to watch films though, rather than play the actual game? Not a big deal but a bit annoying.

You can't play online on Reach if it's campaign or firefight. That's a massive omission from a very co-op oriented game. You also can't view ingame recordings or films, nor can you share them with friends.

Basically major features are disabled due to the omission of a HDD. Halo 3 was the same I think, as well as a bunch of other games with online modes against typical campaign content, but Reach is the highest profile game.

I sell the things and never knew about this. As far as i've always been told it's just like having a smaller hard drive. I'll be bringing this up at work tomorrow. In fact i'll be at work in an hour preparing our midnight opening and i bet we'll have a deal that involves a 4gb console and a copy of Halo Reach.
