4GHz & a 960T

cpu northbridge is 1.32v 2600mhz

I have m4n98tdevo and no idea what exstream lcc is.

Temps are around 45c under prime with artic cooler 7

I'm not sure about when unlocked, but 4Ghz in my experience is achievable with less than 1.45 with 960t quads, though I presume that the extra cores make it harder to hit higher clocks with the Phenom II?

Sorry to nick this thread a bit.

I have a 960T BE on an Asrock 990fx extreme4 with an alpenfohn K2.

I've always had this chip @3.6GHz, 6 core on my old asrock Mobo. Its been fine. Since upgrading my mobo to the extreme 4, i want to hit 3.9/4Ghz with 6 cores. I got to 4 core 4GHz, but i couldn't get it to work with 6 cores. My Temps were around 35c idle.

2 things really, What settings should i try for? Ill try to get some current screenshots up.

Also, Is it best to overclock, then unlock the cores? or the other way round.

Thanks.

Unlock then overclock, find the highest clock of the weakest core. My old 1055t had one core that fell over at anything higher than 4GHz, the rest were good for 4.3 :( My board at the time allowed individual cores to be activated/deactivated and I was bored so stressed each one. Took forever, ran the chip at 4GHz flat or 3.6GHz when I didn't want to hear the CPU fan

Ok cheers for that, I know i can atleast get a stable 6 core 3.6, I reached 3.9 once, but it was a bit dodgy.

Would it be better to have a stable 6 core at 3.8GHz say or a 4 core at 4Ghz?

This is what i've managed to get.

I used the Asrock Auto OC as a guide. It originally set my Vcore to 1.550. Which is the max for the chip. But i lowered it to 1.500 and it seems to be alright.

Changes?

Ill have to give it a go a bit later on, my bios went a bit dodgy and reset and i cant seem to get it to the same level.

The max voltage of the chip is 1.550v, the 4.2GHz at is a bit unstable at 1.52v. Im not too sure how close to the max voltage i should go.

Ive been keeping it at 4.05GHz at 1.52v for the time being, ive seen people say they've gone higher than max voltage, but i dont want to push it to much. What do you think?
