4Ghz overclocked bundle - settings wrong?

Hi, I got a bundle back in 2010 with an i5 750 at 4Ghz. I never was too happy with performance and stutters in FSX and tried reducing it to 3.8Ghz. This seemed to make things smoother in game.

If I remember correctly I disabled turbo boost and therefore 3.8 seemed to be the max I could go. OCUK advised me that I need to enable Turbo Boost to get back to 4Ghz. I did this again last night and sure enough FSX seemed to be more choppy. FSX is mostly CPU dependent so I thought extra speed would help.

Is there anything I can check in my BIOS that might help solve my issues? I know nothing about the cpu and memory overclocking settings.

Is it safe to try to mirror these settings? I have the P55-UD5 so I could try these settings below:

I don't want to fry my PC!

DRAM voltage looks WAY TOO HIGH. I don't know of any memory that likes to run on 1.7v, usually high overclocks go to 1.65v but 1704Mhz is hardly high frequency. What was it originally rated at?

Those settings are for 4.26GHz and are possibly not appropriate for your hardware so no I wouldn't just copy them on the basis that you have the same board and chip thinking you will have a safe stable system, overclocking doesn't work like that.

If I were in your shoes I would be asking myself whether I wanted to invest the time patience and potentially money in gaining an extra ~200 MHz which to be honest is unlikely to make any discernable difference to your FSX experience. If you are then my advice would be to flash your BIOS eliminate all OCUK settings and start from scratch, get to know your hardware and what it's capable of yourself having a stable 4Ghz overclock as your goal. It will be much more rewarding and will set you up for your next rig where you can spend less on building it and overclocking it yourself.
