4k custom pc within £1,5k doable?

thanks so much for replies. Maybe I should start with what I have, so it might not need to be upgraded, as Stulid was using ddr3 in his specs.
amd radeon 6900
i5 2500k 3,3Ghz
asus P8 Z68 VPro
ddr3 dual chanell ( running at 800Mhz in real time, when I was checking it with CPU-z software)
Just trying desperately to save on whatever I can, to spend savings on better components.
Anyway, that titan x was nice combo, but for that price would it be better to run 2 gsx 980 instead, with bette psu of course? Still looking for some nice alternative to monitor ( what is the biggest possible on market? Anything close to 40 ", as I don`t play at the desk, so size does matter in this case.
edit: anything not listed im planning to upgrade anyway, so no point to put it here.

so I would keep my mainboard + CPU, which saves me a lot. I`ll get 16 MB ddr3 running at 2400Mhz ( over the top seems better then "fine") . So having few £ extra in my pocket, what would you recommend as the final buil ( still budget is £2 000 for rest of the PC plus 4k display as close to 40 " as possible. Really appreciated your help so far folks :) Slowly but surely we getting there.

From the other hand, one Titanx have 12 Mb memory, while 2x gtx 980 only 8Mb and costs more. So how it looks if it comes to gaming? Maybe other factors are better to go for sli 980 rather then single Titan?

I dont know how much a 4K TV is going to cost you, but you certainly will want 2 GTX980s or a TitanX or two.

Or in June AMD are suppose to be releasing a all singing and dancing GFX card and Nvidia will release a GTX980ti (a cut down TitanX) to compete.

Its just a month or so, so maybe best bet is to wait and see what they are up to for next couple of weeks. Thanks so much for support, i believe this topic can be closed . Cheers guys

What screen technology, what colour gamut does it display, what refresh rate? Any reviews? 60z@4k is just one tiny part of what may make a screen good or bad.

It may be fine for your needs if you're just interested in one or two facets but it may not when considering all the other factors that affect image. :) I presume there are some reviews out for it?

EDIT: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/philips_bdm4065uc.htm - Review doesn't seem too bad for a gaming monitor which is good, you may have difficulty finding it at £550 though - OcUK are selling it for £800, Thats price hinting you naughty boy.

What if I would go for 2 or 3 radeons 290x? Also I don`t have to run every single option at maximum, if its going to be barely visible for human eye.

Upping the res makes decent iQ settings all the more nessasary , Turning off post FX etc maybe but it's pointless having 4k imho if your having to turn down settings to a point where the framerates Acceptable on a single 980 .

I would have suggested some 290x's but the way these newer releases are going the crossfire support just isn't there . Nor the optimisation in a lot of cases .
