Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a 4k HDR T.V as i'm currently using a Sony 1080P LED T.V at the moment but my monitor is a higher spec than it :D

I'm looking to upgrade with about a £1k budget.

Can anyone recommend some good T.V's that would fit my needs.

I'm looking to do some gaming on it PC and PS4 Pro now and again and to watch some 4K content on it.

I need it to be about 49 inches or below.

A couple i've been looking at are LG 49UH850V and the Samsung UE43KS7500

It doesn't have to be curved either i aren't fussy about that and 3D will not be used.

Are they good choices to look at? Can you recommend me any better for my budget?

Thanks a lot guys!

I've got the LG 49UH770v and I'm quite happy with it. The vertical banding is a bit annoying, but the 850v is supposed to be better.

I really recommend the Samsung KS8000 with your budget, I've been to the shops and seen it. It's amazing, definitely better than my LG and the Samsung tvs have the lowest input lag this year.

Any reason why from John Lewis specifically?

Currys have a 5 year guarantee with it anyway.

John lewis price match.

They have the best customer service. Currys are known to be all nicey nicey to get a sale. When you need them to be nice they fob you off whereas john lewis go above and beyond what they are supposed to.

Put it this way i go out of my way to buy from john lewis and get them to price match. I usually find as many retailers as i can that are cheaper. Copy and paste the form info from one into them all. They dont price match all retailers usually for every 5 price matches i send they approve 2 of them and i go for the cheapest one.

Oh right that's good to know, I don't think they sell the LG i want though, or i'm just blind haha. They sell the UH770 when the one i want is the UH850V if i aren't mistaken.

KS8000 Is a little over my budget i think it's 1.2k right?

A Samsung 49KS7000 is within your budget if you purchase at Power Direct. It's probably the most you'll get out of a TV for that price. See if you can get Richer Sounds or JL to price match for better customer service.

Damn the LG 49UH850V is on sale for £749, I think it's time for me to pull the trigger seen as it's £350 cheaper than the sammy right now.

Or is the samsung worth the extra?

Too late to contribute but for comparison I've bought a 55KS7000, the flat version of the 7500. I specifically chose it as the gaming lag is very low - way down in the 20s. I get the TV on Saturday all going well. It'll be interesting to compare!

I have a 55KS7000 and it's great for gaming I have not noticed any lag with either game mode or without tbh.... Just be prepared for it to fall to bits as it heats up. It took me 3 to get a decent one.....

So after almost a week with the T.V i am some what happy with it.

What i aren't happy with though is gaming on it, It's unbearable. I've played Forza Horizon 3 and gears of war 4 on it and the input lag is REALLY bad.

The main thing is though with Gears of war 4, when using the active reload, it's almost impossible to get it on the point with this T.V. I tried changing the TV to game mode but as GoW 4 loads up it automatically recognises it's HDR content and doesn't let me change back till i go to the Dashboard.

Will i keep the T.V? I don't know as the gaming part of the T.V is SUPER bad for gaming but the rest is fantastic. Maybe i should get my self a KS8000.

Anyone know how the KS8000 handles gaming?

and any help/Thoughts are appreciated?
