Hi guys,

I'm thinking of buying this 4k monitor;

http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z...ng-LU28E590DSXY-28-UHD-3840x2160-1MS-Response

Not a competitor as OCUK don't trade in NZ as far as I know.

Three questions if I may.

1. I have a 980GTX and this monitor as Free Sync, does it work with each other?

2. Is this a good monitor for a low level enthusiast that don't agonize over every pixel?

3. While I expect to play some games at 4k, I don't expect to play the very latest titles at 4k. When I drop the resolution back to 1080p, does it look any different from what you would get on a normal 1080p-only monitor?

many thanks

That's odd. I don't see motion blur on mine, and I was playing older games just fine on it with my GTX 780 Ti.

I've just checked and my monitor is the Samsung U28D590, and I ordered it in March 2014.

Is that gaming in 4K with the 780 Ti?

I absolutely don't expect to play the new Tomb Raider in 4k but older games should be fine. I have a 4k TV and hooked it up to the PC before and most games ran fine. I was just worried about dropping it back to 1080p and it looking weird or 'soft' as another poster mentioned.

I tend to keep my monitors forever but alternate my graphics cards between NVIDIA and AMD, so next up is AMD which should help with the Free Sync.

Currently I have the world's cheapest 1080p AOC monitor and see no input lag or ghosting. As I said in the OP post, I don't worry too much about niggling little things. As long as it's not very noticeable.
