Hi people, I am in need of some help please as I think my problem is beyond my expertise and I am really hoping some one could help.

Ok so my setup is:

TV: LG 65" UHD 4k (model no. 65UM7400PLB)
AMP: Yamaha RX V475

Now I seem to have trouble running 4k though my amp?

Any one help please

When I got my new tv delivered I plugged my SkyQ box direct in to my new tv ( make sure it works etc) and when I select video out put on my sky box to 4k the tv will accept this and the picture is fantastic.

Now when I plug my sky box in to my amp (HDMI IN 1) and then the out (HDMI OUT) cable to my tv I can only selected 1080i or 1080p??

I though ok this could be because my amp is a few years old now and does not support 4k however looking at the specs on line and even in the owner book it states it supports 4k pass though?

I cant see any settings on the amp to change input settings etc?

Is it something I am doing wrong or am I wrong thinking my model of amp does not support 4k?

Your amp is not HDCP 2.2 which is required for 4k output from Bluray players, Sky boxes, Consoles etc. Had the same with my previous Sony Amp and had to replace it.

Hi guys, so on the hunt for a 1 or 2 year old amp.

Coming from my setup above any recommended a make model that has streaming, good power and full 4k?

Forget the streaming aspect. Unless you count Bluetooth, most amp interfaces for streaming directly from the web or a home server are clumsy, hobbled and slow. You'd be better served with an external device (Android box, Firestick, Apple etc). Concentrate on finding a good amp.

You should also post a budget and list any restrictions such as where you'll travel to for the right product.

Does that version support the HDCP 2.2 though?

I was looking at the Denon AVR-x2300 7.2?

Just think while I have option to change I might try somthing different?

Apologies - wrong link, brainfart moment .

The one to look at is this one -> https://www.richersounds.com/tv-home-cinema/av-receivers/yamaha-rxv585-blk.html

Got my parents to buy this unit and it works flawlessly. It autodetects Sky TV and passes the 4K image through - no issues with audio sync either.

EDIT: the Denon looks a solid unit and has Atmos so decent features, if you can get that for a sensible price that would be a good buy but surely buying new with warranty would be better?

My Denon used to get hot too. Its located in an AV unit so I installed a 120mm fan powered from the USB port on the TV (TV goes on fan is on). The fan sits vertically on top of the amp at the back and pushes air across the top. Works well and the amp is now cool. Doesn't look very tidy though.

Snap
Use a 120 mm fan with a DC adapter.keeps the amp cool now:D

Much difference between the x2300 and x2400?

No idea as I have the 2300W, I purchased it as it was the WHifi reciever of the year in that category and off the recommendation in RS. What I can say is that it will do as you ask and you won't be disappointed over the last 25 years or so I have bought several receivers and always felt short changed as features etc may be missing / only available on higher end models, this is the first receiver I have had that ticks every box.

I looking at a Denon x2300w.

Is this full 4k HDCP 2.2

Any good?

you do know manufacturers have pages dedicated to their products? all of the information you have requested many times in this thread could have been found on google with a 5 second search and going to the manufacturers website.

there are also review websites which review receivers.
