4k slow read/write

Hi,

I have just purchased a Kingston (120GB) ssdNow 200 V+ drive to replace the standard Sata drive in my Samsung netbook N145 plus.

I have done a fresh install of Win 7 HP, all driver loaded and all updates done, it does not seem to be as fast as expected. I have run AS SSD Benchmark and all seems fine apart from the 4K readings.

They are as follows approx. Read 7.5MB/s Write 8.1MB/s, these seem very low so any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have ahci on in the bios, fresh install of windows? What sata speeds are available on ur netbook? Sata 1 2 or 3?

Yes AHCI enabled in the Bios, fresh install done, I am sure it is sata 2.

Hmm i think i read as ssd benchmark can provide inaccurate results on some ssds im not 100% sure.

as you can see 4K is slow.

That is low in that benchmark. What does windows experiance index give you for a number also can you run some other benchmark as because as i said previously AS SSD has issues with some ssd drives with its results.

Hard drive index is 7.7

On the other hand I just realised, you're using this in a netbook. This could be why; the SATA controller in the netbook may be limiting you to those speeds.
