4K Upgrade? user experience

It depends on preference really. I have an acer predator 28" 4k and ROG swift. While the 1440p is lower resolution it still looks miles infront of 1080p. The difference between 4k and 1440p is there but its not massive. I prefer the faster refresh 1440p Rog swift to the asus 4k. 4k is nice but its hard to run with decent settings and maintain a smooth 60fps, you have to lower the settings which of course lowers the visual quality and brings it further, looks wise to 1440p.

For me I hate lower than 60hz and hate stutter etc in games. I went with the ROG swift and far enjoy my experience to 4k 60fps. However I use the 4k screen for games like Skyrim where 144hz doesnt work properly, where obviously the extra resolution will benefit with both screens at 60hz.

Ill only change when 4k comes with 120+hz and the GPU power to match.

Phillips 40" 4k here. System in signature. I will never go back!!! Thankfully 99% of the games I'm playing have xfire profiles so my experience has been stellar. GtaV stays at my locked 60fps with everything on very high except grass and Tess are on high. Looks incredible and so immersive on this monitor. Super smooth.

Witcher 3 I only use two cards and its awesome aside from the occasional flicker and the like. Everything on ultra except terrain and shadows turned down one notch.

BF4 on ultra stays at my locked fps of 60. No dips or hitches or anything. So smooth and responsive. In all these games my gpus never really hit higher than 60 - 70%. Until my vram seriously hinders me I don't even see a reason to upgrade. :)

Go 4k, you have the power for it. No regrets!!!!

No idea on the frame rate but I run Elite Dangerous on medium settings at 4k with no noticeable slow down at 4k res on a single r9 290 (2600k CPU @ 4.5)

Also a good game for lower spec 4k users is Dark Souls 2 - it looks and plays fantastically at 4k max res and effects & looks stunning.

+1 plenty of new-ish games run fine at 4k with single mid-high end card

dead space 3/dark souls 2/Grid 2/Wolfenstein New Order

saying that though, when the die shrink hits next year ill be ripe for an upgrade to a pascal/GCN2.0 card for single card 4k in everything
