That site is a scam. It took me a while to break it down.

Look elsewhere. I didn't get mine from there either. I would call and ask them to remove your account from their system so your info isn't whored out.

Having had more time with the set, pretty happy so far. The ultra wide is a nice new experience and I enjoy it. Going to 120hz from 60hz without GSync isn’t much of a difference to me.

GSync is amazing and didn’t realize how good it is until it randomly stopped working and my fluidness in battlefield 5 went out the window.

That’s the biggest thing I’ve noticed so far. G sync sometimes won’t activate in BF5 and I have to re launch the game.

I seem to have excess flash-lighting in the lower left hand corner of the unit. What's the best way to take a pic with a iphone x to share so i can get an idea of this being normal or out of spec?

A video might be better. Is this what is called scanlines?

I'm guessing you mean IPS glow?

I assume this effect changes/dissipates if you increase the viewing distance or move your head to the left?

If so, it is just IPS glow and its inherent to the tech, especially with an IPS display this size.

It can be hard to produce a photo that accurately represents real-life use because cameras usually over-expose the glow.

It can be a bit annoying it's true, but I find it's only really bothersome on a black screen in a dark room when viewing fairly close up. I haven't been bothered by it in general use (including games) at all. I mean it's there, and I think the contrast is a little affected in the lower left corner if I sit at my normal viewing distance, but I can only really tell if I actually check that area by moving my head and tracking the changes in contrast and darkness.

I think there can be some variance from unit to unit, but I don't think you can get an IPS screen without some glow, and the larger the screen the more you get it since it's exacerbated by off-angle viewing.

If you are excessively bothered by it, you might prefer a VA screen. Then you have to put up with some black crush, issues with angles of view with dark shades, and ghosting on moving images. You just have to pick the issue that bothers you the least.

Thanks for the details @strumpusplunket yeah it’s corner flashlight effect you’d get from an edge lit ips lcd. The left bottom corner is just more noticeable than the others. I fully expected to have this but was hoping for better uniformity, I guess.

Yeah, it does kind of suck that even today top-end monitors seem to necessarily have one drawback or another. I would say the glow on my X34P doesn't generally bother me. On the desktop and in work apps I can't even notice it and in games it's not very visible 90% of the time (and/or I'm too focused on the action in the centre to notice my peripheral vision), but from time to time - on a loading screen or an extremely dark scene - I'll notice it and have to lean back a little to make it go away and then I do think it's a shame to have a high-end display with this imperfection.

Oh well.
