4TB (Media storage) GPT Format?

Hello,
I’ve just purchased a 4TH WD Red drive which is going to sit in my HTPC, it will not be used as a boot disk just for storing Movies etc on. The machine is running Windows 8.1 (as are all machines that might access it). I assume I should format in GPT but am not sure, can someone please advise?

Yes gpt is essential in order to access the whole disk. MBR can only manage 2TB.
