got a new system yesterday which uses four sticks of 1GB ram. i'm using OCZ PC2-6400 (rated timings are 4-4-4-15)
using 4 sticks at the rated timings causes the XP installer to crash. lowering the timings to the SPD default of 5-5-5-15 allows the XP installer to run. mostly.
upping the volts from the default to 2.1 makes the system work. reasonably, but it fails prime INSTANTLY and causes bioshock to CTD. sometimes the system bluescreens.
using all four stick passes memtest for over an hour.
i've tested each stick individually for errors (found none) now running 2 sticks at 5-5-5-15 2.1v with no errors.
what i want to know is, is there any way i can run the other two sticks with a stable system? should i have gotten 2x 2GB sticks instead?
