I'm concidering investing in a 5.1 + mic headset as my 2 channel + mic is on the way out.

Thing is if I was to get a 5.1 solution I'd really need some kind of 3.5 mm switch box that would let me switch between my existing 5.1 surround setup and the headphones.

Any one know of such a product? Google and forum searching are yielding nothing

Sony had a pre-amp with two 5.1 inputs, it's discontinued though. I take it you want to switch between two 5.1 analogue sources/inputs, then route that 5.1 output to a poweramplifier?

But if you want to switch between a 5.1 input and standard stereo inputs any AV amplifier AV processor/pre-amp will do.

edit it was this one http://www.stereophile.com/solidpreamps/700/

If you just want to switch from one 5.1 input, there's this.

Although you'll need a headphone amplifier (it doesn't have headphone socket) unless you have one already.

There's also this

But it's a "dumb" device, just a switch only so if you need to control level (a master at least) otherwise it'll be very loud.

I really was hoping for a cheap flick switch solution. It's to switch the analogue ouput from my x-fi between a 5.1 enabled sub and 5.1 enabled headset. The microphone doesn't matter as it can be directly plugged into the x-fi.
