Hey all,
I recently purchased the 16gig version Quasar 215i" Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4.2GHz Overclocked Haswell Gaming PC Bundle

Fresh install of Win 7 onto an ssd drive and Im getting a low score on the win experience thing.

Im pretty sure it was more than that on my old system, any ideas what Ive missed to make it so low?

It'll be because the storage is a HDD rather than an SSD. HDD scores on this basically cap at 5.9, you need an SSD to get past this artificial wall.

It only tests the drive that windows runs from though which in this case is an SSD.

OP - are you *sure* you installed Windows onto the SSD?

If so, check your BIOS and make sure it's running in AHCI mode for the SSD, otherwise it might give poor performance.

Plugged the SSD into an Intel SATA 3 port rather than a SATA 2 one?

The WEI is worthless anyway so I wouldn't worry. Get your readings from proper tests/benchmarks and see if everything is in check. :)

Ive read a few opinions on WEI!

Can someone recommend me a reliable test/benchmark program so I can check all is well?

Ive just tried a program called CrystalDiskMark, which came back with this:
How does that look?
Will also have a look at 3d mark

Looks like its plugged in to a sata 2 port as they are capped at 3 Gb/s

Have a look and see if your motherboard has some Sata 3 ports for 6Gb/s. Normally a different colour on ASUS boards.

all SATA ports on GA-Z87-HD3 are SATA3.

if on SATA2, you'll never get 480MB/s read.

make sure you're on AHCI in BIOS and have the newest (chipset/SATA) drivers installed.

above all, WEI is completely pointless.

your missing storage space

it checks speed/performance/memory/storage space

if you just have a ssd you miss space :p
