5 Series refresh?

There are some amazing deals on 5 Series right now, with a 520d M Sport coming in at just over £300 a month on corporate lease.

A refresh is due (at some point) and as we're looking to lease 5 cars the guys having them are now concious that a newer improved 5 series could be just around the corner.

So, (and I know this is mostly guess work) will the new 5 series be that much better than the current one. I've read that style-wise there aren't many changes but the mechanics could be a revelation!?

It wont be "just" around the corner, I would imagine. Mine was one of the first of the LCI's, and is coming up for 2 years old now. I suspect you're looking at a 3-4 year cycle from new model > LCI or LCI > New model (probably closer to 3 years). So I would imagine it must be at least a year away.

It may well be better, though by how much would be a complete guess. I suspect it will be more down to fuel economy and stuff. The tech will be watered down stuff from the new 7 series, so have a look at that if you want to see what the new 5 "might" look like.

Early 2017 is what I've seen as dates for the new 5.

My sources are that the new 5 (already seen in and out of cammo) will be available late next year with the M5 appearing a year after in 2017.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll pass it on.

They're only having two years leases so a release late next year won't sting quite as much as if they were available in January.

Your 'sources'?

It will be the same as every model before it, a 7 year cycle. So not on the road prior to 2017, about 18 months after the new 7 begins deliveries.

The F10 was available from 23 November 2009, add 7 years - not difficult to work out

No it wasn't, the launch with actual customer cars was March 2010.
