5* waterblocks

If cost wasnt an issue i would go for full cover blocks everytime as they are neater and flow restriction isnt a problem for me as i run two loops.

Saying that i dont really like paying £50+ for a new block everytime i change my gpu so i tend to stick with core only blocks. Though i do currently have a ek full cover block on my 4870 as i was finding it hard to keep vrm temps down.

As for core temps, my 4870 load temps went up about 5c when going from a D-Tek FuZion GFX 2 core only block to the EK full cover block

Edit:- Just seen the price of the 5870 blocks on competitor site. £75.99!! Please tell me the vrm temps on the 5870s is lower than the 4870 series!

Fitted my 5850 block today.

Running at 1.3v 1050 core, 1300 memory and core temps are 33C under load and vrm's staying below 50C. The vrm's do get very toasty if you are overvolting the card.

max overclock is now 1080 core with 1.35v

I think i;m going to leave it at 1000 with 1,25v tbh. Nice and cool and silent

Dangerden have a block for Hemlock now (5870x2 or 5890 whatever they decide to call it.)

Got my EK block for my 5850 the other day - nice piece of metal!! Fitted well and cooling is excellent across the memory and VRM's
