5 years today, 56 people died in London because of Suicide Bombers, just wondered if this has affected anyone on this Forum, in anyway?, i have a friend that was very close to one of the sites of the attack and she says it still runs vividly through her mind.

I was down there on a sight-seeing trip with my then-girlfriend (now wife). The bombings occurred on our last day, just after we bought day tickets for the tube and buses. Fortunately we took our time having breakfast, so the news had already arrived and we stayed put. Strangely, I don't remember experiencing much anxiety or fear at the time - it was more a feeling of confusion and bewilderment.

Didn't have a huge impact on me bar having to walk from Camden to Stratford to get a train home, one of the girl's at work was on the bus behind the one that blew up and saw everything so no doubt she was quite badly affected.

That was a good bit of luck then :D, to be honest i dont think i would have been scared, i would have like you said, confused and left wondering. My friend was walking down to The Centre and was quite near to Edgware Tube Station, when the Train blew up. but by the time she had got there, it had already happened and the Police had cordoned off the area. But she saw many injured, and the commotion of the ambulances and Police added to the moment.

Utterly tragic for those concerned (RIP) and their families.

That and the Madrid bombings really hammered home how another country's renowned foreign policy was causing a reaction on soil other than their own. No need whatsoever. :/

My mum worked in Russell Square at the time, she had got an earlier tube from Kings Cross so luckily missed the blast but one of her colleagues was on the train that got hit. She was in a different carraige so wasn't injured but I'm sure she will be affected for life.

I didn't even realise my mum was in that office that day as she was there infrequently so I didn't even think about her being in danger until she contacted me.

Perfectly agree with you, no need at all for terrorist acts like this. it begs me to believe that their are people in this world that will kill innocent people, and not even think of the pain it will cause the victim and worse still the families that will have to live with it.

I was living in London at the time, my sister usually took the underground on one of those trains on her way to work about that time.

I didn't wake up till around 11 after it was all over and fortunatly she'd text me to say she was ok otherwise I'd have been a bit worried. Fortunatly she'd been delayed leaving for work otherwise a good chance she'd been caught up in it.

At the back of my mind I do sometimes think about those (and other bombings) and feel a little relieved I don't live in London any more.

The likely hood of getting injured in a bomb blast in London has to be incredibly slim, think how many people use public transport everyday, a tube train can hold around 800 people and forgive the bluntness of this as any loss of life is tragic, only 56 people died spread over 3 trains and 1 bus. I've worked in London for over 5 years and the only time I've been inconvenienced is by the bomb blasts as it took me longer to get home.

Yeah my sister had to bring several work colleagues home with her as they couldn't get out in any other direction that day - and then drive them home heh.

That a lot more people weren't killed that day is difficult to understand but thank goodness.

Whilst completely true, that wasn't the point I was entirely going for.

I'm not worried about it, but living out in a sleepy town in the middle of nowhere I do sometimes reflect on life in London and feel a little relieved - I moved shortly after the attacks (not connected) so it is one of my last memories of living in London.

RIP to the 7/7 victims and thankfully I have no direct connection to any of them just understanding of what the feelings of those around them must be, having lost family friends during the height of the sectarian troubles in Northern Ireland.
