£50 limit: Convince me not to get an iPod Shuffle

Creative ZEN.

There's also the D2 etc. which are even better in terms of sound quality than mine (didn't you have one?).

yeah i did. great little players. my sony sound better though, if im honest. it looses out in everything else, but that sound makes up for it!

I wanted something with expandable memory and a good screen etc. for video playback.

The D2 was a little on the expensive side and the Sony lacked the larger screen/memory otherwise it would have been one of these two.

Finally got it in today, even tho I paid that forest extra for 1 day express delivery. Nonetheless, that player is tiny! Not as sleek as the shuffle but still, tiny!!

I can't use it yet, been set to charge full before I'll play and listen.

I did whilst charging, upload 450 songs (2.8GB worth) and it wasn't *that* slow... took 25mins-ish so overall, not too bad, could be better tho. Will update next with my views of the sound quality :)

Just listened to a playlist of my uploaded songs - very good little player:)

I also got the keyring addon so now I can carry it around me, protected / hooked around my belt strap:D I like the sound quality from it, it is as good as my second gen Nano... but honestly, I hate how you have to navigate around the player.

Yes, a simple play button plays it but I've got to "drag and drop" my music into folders per album, if not, it'll list them alphabetically and all my mix of albums will be played all track number 1 first. Madness! Can't that thing read the tags of each song and list them?

Took me awhile to sort them out, drag and drop out of iTunes isn't good. I tried using SyncTunes (an app for Macs) to sync and unfortunately it hits the same problem. 1 way is to drag and drop straight out of my iTune folder, where my artist folders are holding each album in respective folders.

Overall, it's a good little player and I'll be testing how long this last in terms of battery, 3 hours in and still going strong :)

I also noticed how loud this is, I'm only on volume 8 out of 20 and it's already pretty loud out of my Mylar XB IEMs... I'm happy overall with what money I've paid, cheers again for the suggestion :)
