Save your money mate just get a Q9550 with 12MB L2 Cache (12Mb L2 cache is important as it allows more to be stored on the chips cache which is must faster than system ram) you should be able to keep everything else in your system and can sell the old CPU to recoup some of the cost. There will be no games out on the PC in the next few years which a GTX295 + Q9550 or higher cannot handle. If you do a lot of media encoding a Core i7 will be much quicker but tbh few games will show massive FPS boosts over a Q9550 as PC games are just not being coded to take much advantage of the extra cores. That's not likely to change for a long time to comeI have 500 to upgrade my motherboard, memory, cpu and cooler. Have looked at the overclocked bundles but don't know what to get. I always want to max games out, and now there are some games that are more cpu reliant like grand theft auto 4 and crysis. What is the best i can get for my money peeps, would like some type of quadcore but not certain. Have the money here waiting to order hehe
