This MSI GPU has a longer warranty and is clocked higher than your choice for a couple of quid more. The Z77 mobo can't OC the i3 but it makes clever use of the IGP, it can use the IGP to boost the GPU too.

Ocuk have a good offer on the 7870 GPUs which might be worth considering

Hmmm, 90 day warranty back to OCUK on something important as a HDD.

Just saying.

How much is left of the manufacturer warranty would be important to know.

So I assume and I3 2100 would be far better for performance than a FX-4 4100?
And the obvious upgrade if a 2nd hand 2500k can be had along the line.

Yes the i3 is better and it uses less power.

Stulid rightly pointed out the shorter warranty. It's an option i just pointed out to help bring costs down to the budget.

I get the same flak when i suggest OEM CPUs (1 year warranty). It's ok to say it's just £10 but you can't keep doing that over components or the price keeps creeping up. How you balance the budget is your call, your friend might want to pay a lil more than £500 to improve the warranty. If that's stulids only complaint with my spec....I can live with that ;)

The GB mobo i spec'd has a 3 year UK based warranty. The F3 HDD has a longer warranty than the Barracuda so fair enough. Looks great for the price :D
