£500 to drop on a gaming monitor

As titled I got some savings for a new monitor. I'm running a RX480 8gb so got some meat to run it. Mostly playing fps.
The asus MG278/9Q are looking good, but I'm considering an ultra wide curved if I can a reasonably priced one that has a fast response time and more than 60hz.

What would you guys reccomend? Do I need free-sync?

I'm thinking about compromising, going 75-100hz but upping resolution/size. A wide screen or potentially a curved? What do you think?

I keep swinging between mg279q and a curved HD thingy! mG is winning slightly as you can use it for other things apart from gaming!
