Dear all,

I am going to be refreshing my late Father's PC as a kind of homage, although the only important thing to keep is the case. I would like to turn it into a 1080p gaming rig.

I have the following:
Intel i5 750
ASUS P7P55 LX motherboard
NZXT HUSH case including PSU 750w (? brand)
4GB 1333Hz DDR3 (2x2GB) (? brand)
24" Iiyama Prolite E2407HDSD
2x 1.5GB SATA2 HD

My thoughts for a £500 upgrade were:

HD 7950 (with or without Boost)
256GB+ SSD (for OS, programs & games)
Add 4GB RAM
Replace case fans
? CPU cooler

Comments or component suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you,
Eddy

Gives you a new mobo, gpu, cpu and ssd. You could upgrade your memory at a later date but to be honest you don't really need more than 4gb at the moment, and when gaming speed doesn't matter very much at all. With the above spec you would get a stock cooler from intel, which isn't too bad but won't really allow you to oc. Plus you wouldn't be able to really as the cpu I specced is locked.

Slightly above budget I know :D

sorry! There are plenty of guys on here who will give you a better spec im sure, but just something to get you started :p
