Hi guys! :)

looking to buy a new PC in the next few weeks.

I have a budget up to £500, and will use it for general web browsing/ videos/ music etc

I'm looking at one of the barebone bundles.
Are they any good?
Am I saving money with the barebone systems?

Basically, could you point me in the right direction with my budget?

Cheers if you can help me!

Something like this would be more than adequate for your needs, and if you ever did want to indulge in a little light gaming it would cope admirably.

And if you wanted to go cheaper still try this

Came across that one as well, I'm happy to go £15 over my budget.
Which one from there do you think is better?

Also, is it cheaper to go for the pre-built bundles, or build from scratch?

Thanks!

If you're not going to be doing any gaming on it then any cheapo system will do tbh.
You could probably save yourself a little if you built it yourself, but at that price point the difference would be minimal.

You can't really go wrong with any of the OcUK prebuilts, however you'd be better off going with the AMD option as it will be more upgradeable. Intel socket 775 stuff is pretty much dead nowadays with no new cpus being released for that particular format.

If you really want to build yourself, and spend your entire budget, then go for something like this :)

Plenty for all your needs, and can do decent gaming as well :).

You could eventually save 30-40quid by getting cheaper GPU like this:

Cool, will look into it a bit more. I don't really know a lot about PCs tbh

Do I even need a GPU? Won't the motherboard have one built in?

I think I'd rather go with a pre built, and upgrade over time. That's probably better idea for someone like me that isn't really confident in building from scratch?
