Hey,

So I has a couple of re-occuring BSOD's with "memory managment" as the error
so i dedcided to run memtest to see whats up.

So far have just done it with both stick in, am going to do it with one of each right now,

but it's showing 5632 errors so far, which is as i gather, a very high amount..

this is the ram:

If it turns out the ram is faulty, is it possible to return it??

cheers,
luke

I had that error myself, so I dialed in all the right timing & volts, blah...., and memtested. I received 0 errors, and have been fine since (touch wood) :)

If no better, RMA!

Hey guys, okay so tested all the possible slot/chip combinations,

turns out the slot seems to be the problem, 0 erros when chips are in slots 2, 3 or 4 but 5000+ in slot 1.

Am now running my chips in slots 2 and 4 with 0 errors.

Not going to bother replacing the motherboard, as it works fine otherwise, and I wont be upgrading above 8gb for a while anyway ;)

thanks for your good advice as always!

oh and the voltages and timings are all set as they should be according to the ram chips

Okay, turns out it's not solved the problem..
the initial memtest showed no errors,
just had the same blue screen again, and following that shortly after another one with
"System Service Exception"
....
did the memtest again, lots of errors..

anybody have an idea what I can do?? :(

Still could be the memory at fault, if you've got a helpful friend with the same memory thats in your current computer, that might be worth a try in your machine and do some tests on it. If its bluescreening fairly often then it shouldn't take long to diagnose.

Okay, i worked out one of the chips was the problem, have RMA'd it and bought new ones.
managed to get the c8 ones for less than the c9 ones thanks to the week sale :D
