2 x 5000AAKS in Raid0 on an on board Gigabyte controller.

i get 199 in raid 1 mirror so you should get my speeds or a bit quicker maybe ?.

126MB/sec (using HD Tune) "Average", for 2 x 500GB WDAAKSs in RAID0 looks about right (and pretty good) ....on a single 500GB AAKS I was getting 68.3MB/sec.

You're looking at the burst rate, not the sustained transfer rate. There's no way you're getting 199MB/s sustained from RAID1.
