hi having a problem with a 5070ti i recently purchased and all works well using the supplied cable from my Corsair SF850, or at least mostly
sometimes during a game the screen will go black and the red light will come on on the gpu indicating insufficient power? so far this hs not even been during the game itself but in the game menus
i also ran a breif 3d mark stress test with no problems there, although i am unsure if that would pick anything up
any ideas?
could it be a new cable needed ?
faulty GPU?
bad PSU?
i have removed and reseated everything a few times using different sockets on the PSU but dont know what to do next

not seeming to be game specific although i thought it was at first but i just had the same issue with no game just chatting on discord. i have used the cable now that came with GPU to test its a 3x8 pin to a 16 pin and fairly bulky in my sff case what would be a cable to buy in this situation, is it a case of a bad cable or is it the type of cable ?

everything ok so far but it was fine most of the day as well, ill report any changes

Get in touch with Corsair and see if they will replace the cable, otherwise RMA the PSU to where you bought it.

Does the GPU adaptor cable fit better than the Corsair cable? (any movement when plugged into the GPU)

the cable does fit better but the corsair cable also fit well no looseness the one provided with GPU just feels a lot more solid.
running all day so far with no problems so im going to contact corsair and see about a cable if not ill get maybe a fancy 90 degree cable instead for the space and see how that fares, although hesitant to change now that it is working

Be careful with those 90 degree connectors, a lot of them seem to have been in use when cards have burned.

I had issues with my 5070ti where at random in game the screen would go black and GPU fans ramp up to 100%, but the game is still running. I had a Corsair RM850X (ATX 2.4) and used the power connector that came with the GPU. Tried a lot of things to fix it but ended up replacing the PSU with a Corsair RM1000X ATX 3.1 and used their supplied cable. Its been about 2 weeks and no issues so far. Contemplating getting the old PSU looked at under warranty. Looking online there are a few people who had the same issue and fixed with a PSU change.

I've had similar with a few Nvidia cards in the past. It's not an easy thing to diagnose. I noticed it always occured when the card was on "boost clock", like some component couldn't handle max load when they were hot. Some brands (MSI) seemed much worse for it than others.

Have you changed the heatsink or anything like that?

Also try putting some conductive gel/spray on the connectors to get a perfect contact.
