50FPS and BSOD'ing laptop?

Hey guys
So recently I went and posted a build thread requesting ideas on parts etc;
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18438300

I went with Uncle Petey's build, minus the monitors and with a different case (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-294-CM&groupid=2362&catid=2231&subcat= if you care :P).
Anyway, things went smoothly with the build. Had the PC up and running for around 3 weeks now. Since I was fairly busy, I didn't really have as much time as I though I would to actually chill and play some games. I only just installed BF3 to fully test what the machine was capable of. I'm just about hitting 40-50 fps when maxed out. From what I've been told, with a build like this, I should be getting a fair bit more. I just wanted to ask what it might be that's limiting the performance, if anything at all.

I also have another problem. My (soon to be) 1-year old laptop (MSI GX660R [i7], purchased from OC) has recently started blue-screening. Heres a photo of the error that I get (Sorry for the blurriness :P):

Any ideas what may be causing it and/or a quick and easy fix?

The 7950 isnt a bad card. Have you used the latest drivers? According to anandtech, you are close to their benchmark for BF3. A Nvidia 660 is actually better than the 7950 in their benchmarks for BF3 but the 7950 pulls ahead on other titles.

You could consider overclocking the GPU with MSI afterburner to tweak more performance from it.

Your laptop error could well be faulty RAM. Download Memtest or consider downloading and burning ultimateboodcd to a disk which is full of diagnostic tools.

Ahh fair enough. Either way, the 50-odd FPS I hit on BF3 is good enough for me. Could just turn down the AA a little to increase the FPS if I really want to...

As for the laptop...
I just checked and coincidentally I purchased it exactly a year ago (received it 4th Oct. 2011). The fact it is BSOD'ing would be covered by the warranty, right?

Alrighty, well after leaving my sister with my laptop the entire day (told her to use mine instead of hers), it didn't blue screen once. The last time it BS'd was 3 days back. Considering it was blue screening multiple times each day, with little use, is it safe to assume it's sorted itself out?

So far as drivers go, nope. Not installed any new drivers for a couple months.
