50m Facebook accounts attacked/breached

Well, if you are on FB, then your data is already leaked all over the net. Even private / closed access accounts and groups. FB leaks everything out to the net and to the establishment.

The fact that some of the accounts have been hacked is irrelevant!

Nothing to see here.

I do like a good facebook leak/hack have to say.

Just watching this platform of evil slowly die gives me great joy :)

I thought Instagram was for people's dinners?
Either way, facebook is what you make of it, i use it to keep in touch with folks far away, friends and family, in low numbers.
I rarely post.
I find it useful.
I can certainly see the emotional and mental harm it does, as it gives the impression that everyone is always doing better than you are, by nature of its constant updates.
50 friends, each takes weeks holiday a year, looks like everyone is always on holiday, even thought the skew in perception is within the mind.

It's been a very useful tool for me and I don't have anything to do with peoples dinners or other such crap.
It's probably because I know how to use it for me.

I understand that Facebook may be very useful for you and your use of it is not a problem, however we need to think about the potential here. Facebook is the cause of so many problems (namely propaganda and serious mind control campaigns, I really mean serious mind control) and it is possible for you to do the same things WITHOUT letting one person milk everyone's data and inflate one guys wealth beyond BILLLIONS of dollars PURELY from the fact that he owns a Primary EPSIS.

The interactions you perform on Facebook can be performed using many other means. My question is why do it on a platform which milks the data and monetises it and capitalises from it and sends it to one guys back pocket?

The idea of doing this is repulsive to me personally, yet all society just gives up all data willingly these days.

No it can't, I've been over this before and nobody could give me alternatives.
So what did you do before facebook?

I've been using the internet a long time before facebook. There is literally no function i can think of that you cant perform without facebook. It's technically nothing new. The only thing is its centralising commutations, which is just disastrous because then communications can MUCH more easily be controlled censored and speech can be impeded.

By the way this needs to be a societal effort. "I cant find an alternative" isn't a good excuse to allow an absolutely disastrous disease to be growing on the internet. Excuses like that is why the BBC now wants your post code and gender. Ever since they started doing that I have simply not used iPlayer. The point is if everyone else also took control of themselves and simply stopped using iPlayer for 5 days then they would not still be collecting and milking everyone's data.

People who have no control are the reason why resistance is, and will always be, futile.
