See how the Intel i5 2400 is just really really fast in games - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i5-2500-2400-2300_7.html#sect0

You cant overclock the CPU because its not a "K" varient, and you need a P67/Z68 motherboard for overclocking too. But the CPU is so fast at stock speeds compared to AMD you dont need to overclock:D

for games you dont need anything more than a quad core.

this spec gets you a better motherboard, RAM and graphics. the standard cooler on the phenoms is incredibly noisy, so i'd recommend you get a new cooler as well, but i couldnt fit that in the budget

Thing with this build is it has a great mobo and overclocking ability and you can add an SSD later on and also change the case if you wanted! :D

Cheers guys, 1 thing i forgot to mention would prefer mb to be xfire or hxfire if possible like would this be ok

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-451-AS

You will be wanting a board that does symmetrical Crossfire/SLI which rules out all the cheap H** boards

The cheapest decent P67 motherboard that has SLI/CF and is feature rich is the MSI GD53

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-170-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1906

But you will ideally want a "K" cpu to make use of the overclocking, also the PSU in the build I did wouldn't be good enough for the job.

You sure you cant stretch the budget?

Thats the best I can do, the case is currently out of stock though.

Or by selecting the OEM CPU which has a 1 year warranty and a aftermarket heatsink you can save £2,

This is good RAM but not in stock - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-203-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

Or you can also save some pounds with the OCZ gold ram - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-183-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516 - but it has a bad reputation around these forums
