what are your thoughts and opinions on these mercs? Always liked the look of the 560 sec.

I love them and always have.
I'm just waiting until the late model ones are 25 years old so I don't need to pay any tax

It'd have to be a black one with the body kit and fat AMG wheels though!

Umm, What country are you in? The silly labour government stopped the rolling 25 year tax exemption for classic cars in 97/98

I'm in Belgium. 5600cc means something like £3k a year tax.
25yo means £50.

wow really?

Over here its £135 for 12 months on 1600 or less, over its £235 I think.

But on post 2001 cars its based on emissions for some stupid reason.

Yeah I think they were probably the last of the really nice looking Mercedes, everything they have done since isnt quite as sexy.

Are the cosworth versions like the CSL versions of the M series BMW's?

Pretty sure cosworth was only involved in the making of the W201 16v models. The SEC is a pretty awesome beast, but it will be massively simple compared to a lot of modern cars and the bills will probably be horrendous. I'm sure Mercedes stock parts but at what cost!

Then there's trying to find a reasonably priced nice car. I've seen some of these up at shocking money, similar to the way certain 124's are priced.

The car in Buffalo Soldiers is easily the best looking SEC that I've seen. One would be in my dream garage for sure.
