560Ti. No display.

Recently obtained some new hardware, 560 displayed on previous hardware, no longer with new components. Nor does the card appear in the device manager.

Onboard graphics seem to work fine. Currently posting using that.

Motherboard is the P8Z68-Pro.

The card's fans spin, so it seems to be getting power, not terribly sure what else it could be.

Any ideas?

You need to give your signature a trim. Only 4 lines of text are allowed.

From the FAQ:

You may use a signature (commonly used in email messages) in your posts. You can specify in your profile a signature to use at the bottom of your posts. When you post, there is an option to use your signature. A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box with maximum dimensions of 400 x 75 pixels (width x height) and with a maximum (combined) file size of 20k. Images containing mostly very large words or animated .gifs will not be permitted. You may also add 1 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text directly above or underneath the image with no spaces inbetween image and text. If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you.

Are both power cables securely connected to the graphics card?

What make and model of power supply are you using?

As far as I can tell. I've pushed both of the cables in as much as possible.

Replaced one of the cables with one I had spare just incase it was that, still nothing, I'll try fiddling with them some more in the morning, but, let's assume for now that it's all connected right, as far I can tell.

PSU is a Jeantech "Storm" 700W.

Is this the PSU you were using with your old hardware?

If so what hardware was it running before?

Yeah, it's the same PSU.

Hardware was..

Q6600
Abit FP-IN9
ATI 4870X2
6GB DDR2 RAM

Also, worthy of noting, after the 4870X2 broke, I booted with this card on the previous hardware and was able to get a display. So, the card must have worked at some stage.

If it powered that lot it should power what you have now.

Did you try re-seating the card?

Have you tried a different PCI-E slot?

An update on this.

Restarted today for a Windows update, computer booted, suddenly made a very loud motor sound, turned it off as fast as I could.

Opened it up.

It seems the card had tried to kill itself, it's fan is now missing a few blades.

I have no idea how that'd happen, but, definitely RMA at this stage.

Just looked it up. Pretty impressive for it to break blades give then design! (In a jam, small fan's normally just stop as they are not strong enough or carry enough mass to do damage).

Got a pic of the damage?

You know what?
When i bought my gtx 260 off some guy
it made a huge sound kinda like you described

i found that one of my sata cables was too close to the blade and got sucked in or something....

Afraid not.

But, basically, the fans have snapped off at the very base. Two right next to each other, can't see any damage on the rest of them.

This could very well be the case, I couldn't see any damage to the cables, so, if it did, the cable definitely won.

What's the orientation of the fans? Are the facing down? Is there any movement in the fan when you wiggle it? Enough that it may have caught the heatsink shroud itself (or the gpu heatsink?)

BTW: Look here: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1145079&mpage=1 He mentions fan blades coming off as well.

EDIT 2: going on that link.. check the internal fan wire on the card.

Looked through a gap in the shroud, there's a white four-pin connector floating awfully close to the fan, not plugged into anything.

If possible take a picture of it as is, to keep as evidence for RMA.

Also, it is possible the card wont work unless it detects a fan plugged in.
