Hey guys,
I'm having problems getting my 56k (don't ask) creative labs modem to connect to the internet via AOL dial up (I know, I know). When dialing to retrieve access numbers the modem dials out but hangs when connected and I'm told either that the modem timed out or that the network failed to respond correctly. I've installed the XP drivers for the modem and as far as I'm aware it's working correctly. Is there any way that I can ascertain if there is any problem with the modem. There are no conflicts in the hardware manager nor any sharing violations
However, when I use the AOL system information, the modem fails to respond. I also can't dial out using a normal dial-up connection set up in windows. Also the 1943 adapter, or whatever it is, seems to be configured correctly, but when I select repair connections, windows states it couldn't find TCP/IP settings for the connection.
Any help in resolving my connection issue would be most useful.
