he had zero issues with his previous card. switched to AMD now constant.
Faulty hardware or most likely user error or a hardware clash in the system of some sort. AMD and both NVIDIA drivers are fine and work just fine.

Op is planning on paying more. That is the going rate and at that price what would beat it?No way would I pay £400 for a second hand 1080Ti now.

Need to do a clean install of windows mate.he had zero issues with his previous card. switched to AMD now constant.
Needs to drop another £100 to be at the right price point in Q4 2019 IMO2070 Super just gone down to £459.
AMD has far superior drivers in all aspects including the tools to do things that Nvidia doesn't have at all. So spare us the sht.
What the OP decides to spend on a new card doesn't matter. I am just saying that I would not pay £400 for a second hand 1080ti.
Buying a 5700Xt or 2070 Super you have
Similar performance (at the moment)
Better Warranty,
Peace of Mind,
New Features,
Better performance going Forward in new games,
Better Resale value.
I would only look at 1080Ti's that were selling for less than £350.
I'd definately go for the used 1080 Ti. They've got no warrenty so it's less hassle. If it starts to artifact or fails completely, it only takes a second to throw it in the dustbin. For only £480 it's a no brainer.
Haha did make me chuckle. If I was to upgrade I would look for a 1080ti with a year's warranty at least and it would need to be £400 mark. £480 is 2070s territory (ISH) with full warranty

If the 1080Ti was £280 then we could argue that might be a good price, but when you can buy same speed card brand new pointless
Referring to the 5700XT/2070S brand new argument against £480 used GTX1080TiCan you? Send a link and I'll buy it right now.

There's always the argument that of you just stretch to this, etc. The 1080ti at £400 is decent in comparison.
Not for everyone I know. But if it was the case you had no problems with it then it would be a good buy (at that price)
Glad sold mine £700 last year![]()
my mate just bought an AMD card the 5700. he says it's just constant crashes and the drivers are a mess.
I just bought AMD cpu and wanted to try out their GPU's but you need to feed this back to suppliers. AMD need to up their software.
Good spot, makes them very tempting at this price. Short warranty but I suppose you can't have everything.2070 Super just gone down to £459.
