Hey, all. Newbie here, so go easy, please.
This is my 1st time pc build
and I just finished it off on friday with a 5700 card. I installed the latest driver from the ATI site (was using onboard graphics before that, so no need to uninstall anything). Didnt have any games, so downloaded a Tropico 3 demo, which seemed to run ok, then crashed with some vertical black and grey lines. I put it down to problem with the demo. However, I got Mass Effect off Steam yesterday and get the same problem. I dont even get to shoot anything before it crashes
I've got a 600W OCZ PSU, so I dont think thats the problem - used a power calculator, didnt have the 5770, but I'm within my PSU capabilities if I spec a 4890 card.
I've just run Furmark for about 30 mins without a problem. It reported the temp at a steady 81C when loaded, however, GPU-Z said it was 48C
Any ideas? I was thinking of trying to get my card replaced today. Should I wait for an updated driver? Should I just get a different card?
