5770 Freeze Up

Whilst playing MW2 the screen freezes and goes black. Happening once every couple of days.

All I can do is a hard reset. Windows 7 x64 reliability monitor reports as a video card driver error.

This has happened several times now, The Win 7 install is clean and im using the 8.11 ATI Drivers.

Ive not got any other games installed but I have reinstalled MW2 several times and also the ATI drivers.

The card is also less than a month old, and the system is not overclocked, a Q6600 with 4gig Ram.

Any ideas please?

You should try the 9.11 drivers, 8.11 are a year old.

i had the same mailed AMD they said there are no driver problems so i have put them in for RMA

Bit daft RMAing your cards, as its a well known problem apparently, happens on Nvidia cards to.

I ment 9.11 oops, not sure if the cards borked or drivers or what?

I dont think its the install as ive installed MW2 3 times now because of it, and Win 7 twice.

Maybe i'll try some older drivers.

why was it daft? buying them and expecting them to work out the box or spending £250 finding out they have know problem and keeping seems silly? and no my GTX280,8800GTS,3850x2 didt suffer once from the problem.
