I Have been borrowing a 4850 512MB from a friend for a while and was about time I had my own card so I have been fortunate to be given one as an early birthday present.

Seems to be a great card for the price and with DX11, seems to be win win.

I game at 1680x1050.

Any idea if I will see much improvement over the 4850? Will the extra 512MB of RAM make much difference regarding MSAA usage?

Many Thanks.

Been playing with a 5770 for a few days, recently had 4850's in crossfire for a while and then a 4890.

For some reason it is exceeding my expectations by quite a lot, maybe minimum fps have improved from the 48xx series ....feels very smooth.

For £122 i paid it's a killer card + with the 40nm process thermal issues from previous gen are gone and it's very quiet.....will definitely grab another this week for some CF action.

iv got crossfire 4850s, would i see any performance increases if i do crossfire 5770s?

Two 5770s running in crossfire overclocked to 1 Ghz perform right in between a crossfire 4870 and 4890 setup.

Also, Catalyst 9.12 is supposed to be further improving performance on all 5000 cards once it gets released.

All the ATI 5000 series cards seem to be hitting 1 Ghz with ease on stock cooling. It would actually be surprsing to get one that cant reach 1 Ghz, mine need 1.225v, but I have seen others managing on just 1.174v, and some needing 1.264 on another forum.

having problems with it, or someone brought it off the owner, owner changed what he wants it for etc

Depending on the game, these perform somewhere in between the 4870 and 4890.

I think i'm going to get one myself next month, in terms of raw speed it's not going to be a massive upgrade but it should run cooler, quieter, and be better with higher resolutions. :)

Not sure what's happened, with the order. It is apparently in the "Warehouse Queue".

I'm hoping it has been sent and someone simply forgot to scan it out in the warehouse or something.

Depends what time you placed the order. If they're busy it might not ship until tomorrow.

Then again, I have had things delivered while still being "in the warehouse queue" so anything's possible.

Well, it wasnt shipped as apparently they dont have any of the Sapphires in stock. Website says 10+ although the were expecting stock yesterday but it never arrived.

Rang them this morning and they changed my order to a Powercolor for the same price. Should be with me tomorrow.

Powercolor any good?

I had a Powercolor X800XL a few years back.
