5770 with a PCI-E 1.0 mobo?

I've had a look around and googled the subject however I keep finding conflicting views. Does anyone know if the 5770 video card will work on the 1.0 slot?

5870 works fine in x1 slot so a 5770 will be fine too

As far as im aware it should work, my old man is using 5770 on a s939 thats is PCIe 1.0 i believe

PCIe is what all these older boards use, and they still provide more than engough bandwidth, a x16 1.1 slot is the same as a x8 2.0 slot
