I'm going to be building a new rig in a few weeks and will be watercooling just the cpu,im looking at the ocuk tech labs v12 kit would it be worthwhile upgrading everything in the options or would the standard kit be ok,i will be prob watercooling a graphics card when the new cards are available as I have an amp extreme and don't think theres a block for this card,or maybe the v16 kit would be better in the long run,i have a budget of around £400

V12 will be ample for the CPU, and at a push probably the gpu too. I would have the mindset of adding an additional radiator if and when you decide you wish to cool your GPU later down the line - providing your case can accommodate two radiators?

case will be phanteks enthoo primo full tower, would the standard v12 kit be enough or is it worthwhile upgrading all the options on the kit,i think it comes to around £300 or if I get the v16 kit is it worthwhile upgrading all the options on it to cool the cpu and a graphics card

If you want to cool the gpu as well down the line, then definitely add another radiator. You are going for Primo, which is an excellent case and has ample of rad space.

yea ive looked at a review of the case on youtube, defo a good case ive a haf x at the minute but am building this pc for my son and the phanteks case has room for plenty of rads, now should I get the v12 kit with all the available upgrades or get the v16 with all the available upgrades,im going to be building this rig with my son so I want it to be a deacent build, ive a 980ti amp extreme to go into it,a 500gig solid state drive 3 4tb drives and a blu ray burner to go into it,the only thing I havnt decided yet is the memory,im looking at 16gig of 3000mhz ram and I have an asrock extreme 6 mobo

I started with the original v12 watercooling kit a few years ago and have gradually added more rads due to component changes and more overclocking etc. But all the original parts are still going strong and it was more than enough to begin with when I was running CPU block only

ive I added all the upgrade options to the v12 kit would it be enough for the cpu and a gpu when I change gpu next year or would the v16 kit with all the available upgrades to the kit be a better option

change the pump to the D5 option [XSPC d5 dual bay] d5 is the best pump you can get

the radiator to the coolgate one [none of the others are in stock]

cpu block to EVO Nickle

and you will be fine. should handle cpu and single gpu fine. if you start overclocking and find temperatures an issue then adding another radiator is as simple as a couple of fittings and some tube

the fans are good, not the best but you cant buy the best anymore :(.

why not add that second radiator now if you got more left than you thought. or put it in the bank saving for your Gpu and block

ah great I have four of them ill change them over then and put them on the rad on the v12 kit rad with one spare

whats your case m8? Might be better off just speccing you a parts list rather than customization of one of the ocuk kits

the case is phanteks enthoo primo full tower, the watercooling will be for the cpu at the minute ,I have a 980ti amp extreme but as far as I no there is no waterblock to fit it but I will be watercooling the gpu when the new cards arrive next year

Heres a list of parts that would do you,all high quality, and would allow you to add a gpu down the line without needing extra rad space, plus it it suits the GT's you already have :)

Rad would go up top!

tubing/fitting/coolant colours are here are just place holders, pick your choice!

For the set up your wanting to cool this would be over kill, you only need a slim 240mm rad for the CPU to be overclocked and run silent.
