5850 good upgrade?

I've just upgraded from a 512MB 9800GT to a 1GB Radeon HD5850, just wondering whether this would be a decent upgrade from my current card? I was considering just getting another 9800GT and having SLi but figured that the 5850 was probably better than two 9800 GT's.

The last Radeon card I had was a 9800 Pro way back in 2002 ish and I've heard stories about the ATI Drivers not being very good though I'm sure this is probably not true. All in all I'm pretty excited to see what it'll handle GTA4 and Crysis like, hopefully pretty well.

Card should be here first thing tomorrow.

That 5850 smashes the **** off a 9800GT, even in SLI

Suffice to say that if the gaming performance doesn't make you go "Wow" something must be bottlenecking the card.

It's an E8400 currently at stock but looking to overclock soon, probably to 3.5 - 4.0GHz and 4GB of 800MHz OCZ DDR2.

Aye get it clocked definitely, be ok at stock but you will get more out of it at 4Ghz

All I'm worried about with the OC is the voltage of the RAM as I'm a total noob at this, but that's for a different thread I guess.

I'm hoping that I'll have a pretty decent gaming PC when I pop that card in tomorrow.
