Black Ops punished your machine? I think you are getting confused because of the lag that everyone had on release date, which has since been patched. Black Ops is a console port and has very low system requirements...
the 6000 is Northern Island version and next one is the Southern Island with new HD 7000 due in H2 2011 so I will wait for the new HD7000 with new 28nm and extra improvement that would be good one..
I look at 6000 but decided to wait for the 7000 that will come out in 6 months time.
I can run games like gta 4 really well with the odd little slow down but thats just gta being a bad port i think. Still running 10.3 drivers and wont change a thing while everything seems to be running ok
. I went up to 930MHz on core but furmark would crash. As it is a non-reference PCB, I don't have the option of tweaking the voltage.
.I have been able to overclock my sapphire 5850 to 900/1200MHz on stock voltage. I went up to 930MHz on core but furmark would crash. As it is a non-reference PCB, I don't have the option of tweaking the voltage.
5850 is a beautiful card.
28nm will be longer than six months, and the first cards on that process will be the lower performance models to enable them to work out the kinks.
No - accord to AMD that it will be release in H2 2011 for the new Southern Island HD7000 so it may come out between April to June but think it would be likely between July/August... I would wait for it and save some money to buy one..
