Hello chaps, wondered if any of you could help me. I'm trying to get the DTS-HD / True HD logo to light up on my onkyo 605 amp but i'm having no luck. I've downloaded some samples with the correct DTS-HD and TrueHD soundtrack in them, and messed with every setting possible on the pc and amp. The 5870 is linked directly to the amp via HDMI cable and sound is coming out the speakers of the amp.

I came across this site http://doityourselfhtpc.wordpress.c...g-dolby-truehd-and-dts-hd-with-intel-core-i3/

I tried the TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum and according to that it's definitely a DTS-HD track i'm playing, but my amp says PCM multi ch.

What am i doing wrong and would the cable stop it from working properly?

I used ffdshow-tryouts to do bitstreaming.

Once installed you go to the output tab and enable the bitstreaming for DTS-HD.

I don't have any experience with real bluray but with rips it works quite easy, i think retail bluray can have hdcp or bluray drm on them that requires everything to be hdcp compatible.

Also make sure your amp is on "straight" well on my yamaha that is the setting that i use. There is also a direct option but that just does pcm. For bit streaming it has to be on "straight"

I also use mpc-be for player and lavfilter for video codec, i only use ffdshow-tryouts for audio.

Yeah I had this problem, needs to be set up in the codec pack. I use sharks codecs and just had to dig through the options to find it.

Thanks gents. I haven't had time to mess about more, but i'll give the suggestions a try. I was reading on AVF about a firmware update that addressed this specific issue and it looks like mine is an early version which hasn't been updated. Hopefully i can get it working without too much trouble.
