5870 and the cases it will fit in?

Are we just talking about those for sale on OcUK? There are loads and loads of cases that it would fit in. My Akasa Omega for example but this is no longer on OcUK.

I think it is ok to tak about any case just do not link to a competitor where it is for sale. I am sure if a company as smart as OKUK seen enough people dribbling over a specific case they would consider stocking it.

If I am wong on this point please correct me.

well just got my wonderful new card but unfortunately it doesn't seem to fit in my Shark... :(

Hi. I've got the same case (but only with a 4870 in there) and did a quick google search. Seems somebody made it fit.

Maybe it's time for us to get new cases.

Edit: Just read your original post again - looks like you probably found that same article..... ok, so what's the case we should have now then?..

5870s fit in Lancool K62s. In the case forum theres a topic what someone made about the case. he has a 5870. Pics there for proof

I am about to purchase a new rig and find this thread very informative. I am not sure which case I want yet but I know I am going for a 5850 or 5870. Something tempts me to a Lan-Li PC-A70FB or 71FB, somehow I checked the Lan-Li site and according to the dimensions on the site the 58XX series will fit easily. There is 390mm of space or 530 if you take out the drive bay.

I like the PC-7FN and it is 290mm to the drive bays and 430mm without, so would fit A 5870, the only thing that puts me off this case is just two fans, probably be fine for what I need it now but seems to impact expandability...sorry that bit should have been in the case forum .

just before recieving my 5870, i ordered a new (but cheap) CIT 1001 midi-atx case, thinking it would, and it has. although only about 5mm clearance between back of card and hd bays. so any relatively more expensive and well known case should fit it

That was the original post I'd found but when I tried with mine, I didn't feel comfortable with the way it was going, and rather than tempt fate, I thought I'd just order a new case...

Antec 1200 should be on its way as soon as DPD resume their deliveries...

On a side note, there is quite a possibility that this thread is more suited to the case forum, but I think its been quite helpful here too....

I'll update a little later when I'm on my desktop as opposed to my NC10

Old school Chieftec Dragon win the bottom drive bay removed,
bear in mind i think it still fitted with the drive bay in but the card went into the bay so you couldnt have a hard drive there (although this may be advantagous as you could put a fan in the cage, there is already a slot of it) and blow air straight into the card vents

To Firenze my friend has a shark case we had to cut out the left side of the harddrivebay for the 5870 to fit as he loves the case.

I haven't got a 5870, but there is no way in hell it won't fit in my case (Lian Li PC-A71F)

My 5770's are dwarfed by the expanse of space:
